Birjand has many interesting sites to visit But it is a little far from the main touristy routes and that is why there is scarcity of information about its monuments. Birjand is located South-East of Mashad and north of Zahedan. It is 481 km far from Mashad and 458 km from Zahedan. Still if you happen to go that way especially if you are crossing the border, it is definitely worth visiting. To name a few: Emarat Kolah Farangi (a building in form a Zigurat), Shokatieh building, Akbarieh building and garden, Char Derakht complex, Forg Citadel (80 km on Zahedan road), Asadieh archelogical Village, Hesam-o-dole tomb, Jenesht cave (60 km on Zahedan road)
