Many areas in Iran central desert attract tourists every year. Maranjab along with Masile, Mesr and Garme are among the most interesting touristy spots. Maranjab desert is located near Aran and Bidgol town in the north of Isfahan province is famous for its moving sand hills. The 500 year old caravansary and the fresh water pool are among the amazing wonders of maranjab.

To get to Maranjab, there are three possible routes.

1.       The first route is from Kashan to bidgol to Padegan road and you have to drive some 45 km on a dirt road to get to Kavir-e-Maranjab (the most common route)

2.       The second route is from Pishva town near Tehran to mobarakie (15 km), Qasr Bahram (60 km) and to Sefidab caravansary (80 km) and finally to Maranjab (45 km). (you need to  have a permit to drive through this route)

3.       The third way is to drive from Kashan to Abuzaid and then to Maranjab (the least common).

Remember you need a 4wd and a local guide to visit kavir.
